The drawing classes are held once a month in Yokohama & Kyoto.  You can learn to draw flowers in a relaxed manner and a friendly atmosphere.

Yuji provides the participants with various pre-cut flowers and vases, for their use and enjoyment.  You, the participant decide on which flowers you wish to draw and bond with for the class.  Paper and pencils are available for purchase at the classes.  Beginners, of course are welcomed, and encouraged to come.  Yuji will teach the basic techniques for drawing and may even personally touch up your drawing to show you a technique personally, giving you and your artwork a new perspective.

“Many of my students,” Yuji has says, “have been in my classes for over a decade, and enjoy the semi-private time and they have learned to become one with the flowers, and to be focused.”

Not interested, not confident or have no experience in the art field, then this is one class you should attend!  Attending has assisted many of Yuji’s students with a means to the extent whereas the student starts to draw with the belief that there are, “No problems!”  Your present inner conditions will start to appear in your artwork as a pattern, and you can clearly begin to see the inner changes starting to occur.  This is why some people compare and say that this is the Drawing or Art form of my Healer Consciousness Seminars.

Some of just of a few of the benefits are:

  • Class is started and instructed by Yuji
  • Desert and coffee/tea is served by Yuji and his staff
  • Yuji is does a one on one healing with each participant of the class

Yuji Kato's Art – Healing Flowers of Love

I started drawing when I was young, mainly because I did not have a lot of friends when I was young.  One day, one of my drawings appeared in a magazine, and that then created an opportunity for me, oh I think it was in 1993.  I started a small art class at the request of some people that had viewed my artwork in the magazine.  Since then I have taught my drawing techniques in Yokohama and Kyoto, about once a month.  Since, my art was first published; I have had requests to purchase my artwork, so I made a limited number of lithographs, initially!  In 2000, I made my true debut by printing a limited number of 30 prints per drawing.  I added touch-ups or colors to each individual print, thus making them each unique and an individual, giving them each their own energies.  Thus making each truly one of a kind for the purchaser, and each one is delivered with an individual message, and they are all signed as well.

For me, they are "irreplaceable treasures" and are like children that I have created!

When I have finished a piece of art, I look at it from a distance.  Some may think that it is odd, but sometimes I receive a different name for the flowers, than the one science has already given them.  In addition, poems or messages flow into my mind one right after the other.  All these words or messages are written down at each moment are attached to the artwork.

At the art shows held several times per year, these poems or messages are recited by the accompaniment of a piano or harp, in the background.  I feel lucky as an artist to have other artist create such a beautiful atmosphere for my art, my children!  Many of my collectors and visitors are moved to tears and are delighted by not only the art but the words that accompany it!

When I debut, within the world art scene, it was in Honolulu, Hawaii March 20th, 2004.  I was impressed by the sales and was told to have set a record that evening.  I was honored twice that evening.  Once by the Mayor of Honolulu, Mr. Jeremy Harris and the City of Honolulu, by having that day, March 20th by having it named "Yuji Kato Day"!  The other was an honor form the State of Hawaii and the Governor Ms. Linda Lingle.  This honor was for promoting the cultural exchanges between Japan and the Hawaiian community.  I was truly honored and blessed by these honors that day and still feel the same today!

I received recognition for my drawings which are said to heal the mind, and maybe even the Spirit!  I became known by some as a painter of healing art, this became further known as, "Healing Flowers of Love!"

I am unable to draw art just for selling it!  My art is like my children and therefore I take great pride in them and the quality in each and every step of the process.  I can only draw in a way that makes and takes every effort to put life into the flowers, and life into the final work of art.  I try to imprint the flowers' cell structure into each and every piece of art!

When a collector or client sees the art and falls in love with and purchase a piece of my art, I truly feel like a Father, seeing his daughter off, who is going to get married.  I pick only the flowers that call out to me, and I could be almost anywhere when that occurs, and I only draw when I am moved to do so.  At times, I put the importance on or hold respect for and in the feelings that I am to draw.  When I draw, I use all my strength to put and imprint my energy and life force into the art that I am about to create.  At the same time, with my heart beating and my taking a simple breath all seem to be a hindrance to the task I am trying to perform, yet I stay focused on the final goal and results.  Therefore creating a piece of art is very time consuming, yet very rewarding.

I have recently switched from lithographs to the Giclee process.  This process is able to recreate my art in almost the original clarity.  I am able to do this with the assistance of art printing company located in Honolulu, Hawaii.   This company has world class service and technique, their staff is all cutting-edge, just like the technology that they use.  Creating perfect prints by reflecting, faithfully the original piece of art.

"Please enjoy the video pictures of the flowers that I have drawn!"  Yuji
